A nostalgic Jonker Street cafe famous for blue Nyonya chang, Gula Melaka cendol, durian cendol and traditional Peranakan snacks.
Nyonya Chang Near Jonker Street
East & West Rendezvous is a popular traditional cafe on Lorong Hang Jebat, close to Jonker Street. Its old-world shophouse setting makes it a natural pause during a heritage walk, with a compact menu centred on Peranakan sweets and savoury snacks.
What to Order
The signature Nyonya chang is naturally stained blue with butterfly pea flowers and filled with heavily spiced, sweet-savoury minced pork. The Gula Melaka cendol is prized for its fragrant palm-sugar syrup, while durian cendol, including Musang King versions, is the richer seasonal choice.
The storefront also sells homemade pineapple tarts, spicy shrimp kuih (rempah udang) and raw Gula Melaka blocks. Buy the dumplings early or call ahead to reserve before the day’s supply runs out.
Dietary Note
East & West Rendezvous is non-halal.
