Chung Wah Chicken Rice Ball, also listed as 中华鸡饭 Kedai Kopi Chung Wah, has been serving its famous Hainanese chicken rice balls on Jonker Street since the 1960s. The shop was established by the first generation of Hainanese immigrants and passed down through the present owner’s family.

What to Order

The signature plate pairs poached kampung chicken with savory rice balls shaped to roughly the size of ping pong balls. Add the house chilli for heat and order extra rice balls for the table.

Practical Details

The compact lunch service and steady queue make this a natural first stop before continuing along Jonker Street. Chung Wah is not halal.
