JJ Chicken Rice Ball is a popular air-conditioned dining spot on Jalan Bunga Raya. Locals value it as a less crowded, authentic alternative to the city’s more commercialised chicken-rice-ball options, with quick service and comfortable indoor seating.
What to Order
Start with the signature ping-pong-sized chicken rice balls, tightly packed with aromatic chicken-stock flavour. Pair them with tender steamed chicken, crispy-skin roasted chicken or Mama’s deeply savoury braised duck.
The sides include spicy-sour claypot mustard greens (chai buei), herbal chicken feet and local bean sprouts. Finish with the house chilli, a bright, tangy sauce that cuts through the richness of the meat.

Open from 10am to 8pm Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Sunday, JJ Chicken Rice Ball is a comfortable evening option as well as a daytime stop. It is closed on Wednesday.
