A Long-Standing Jalan Kubu Eatery

Poh Piah Lwee is a quaint, long-standing eatery on Jalan Kubu, known for traditional Nyonya and Hokkien delicacies. Its compact menu keeps the focus on a small group of well-loved local dishes.

What to Order

Signature Popiah is the essential order: a delicate, paper-thin wrapper layered with lettuce, bean sprouts, egg, overnight-stewed turnips, fragrant crispy pork lard and a special chilli sauce.

Nyonya laksa is a rich coconut-milk curry noodle soup with fishcake, tofu puffs and fresh cockles. Nyonya dumpling, or Nyonya粽, is a sweet-savoury glutinous rice dumpling filled with minced pork and naturally coloured with blue pea flowers.

The remaining dishes are local rojak and minced meat and mushroom noodles, giving the five-item menu a satisfying range of textures and flavours.

Dietary Note

Poh Piah Lwee is non-halal.
