Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is an Ayer Keroh wildlife attraction with a butterfly garden, reptiles, insects, birds, tortoises, and guided animal encounters.
Butterfly Garden and Wildlife Encounters
Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is a private wildlife attraction beside the Ayer Keroh Toll Plaza. The sanctuary combines a walk-through butterfly garden with reptile, insect, bird, tortoise, and other animal areas, giving families a nature-focused alternative to the larger zoo nearby.
What to See
The butterfly garden is the main draw, with tropical planting designed to give butterflies space to fly close to visitors. Other sections introduce reptiles, snakes, crocodilians, insects, birds, tortoises, and small animals. Feeding packs and guided encounters include butterfly release, bird feeding, tortoise interaction, and other supervised experiences.
The sanctuary also presents conservation and education information. Interactive experiences and feeding sessions add variety to a family visit.
Hours and Planning
The sanctuary opens daily from 9am to 5:30pm, with last entry at 4:30pm. Allow around three hours for a relaxed visit. Much of the site is shaded or indoors, but comfortable shoes and protection from heat and rain are still useful.
Buy online in advance if you want to secure entry. Free parking is available, and the sanctuary is easiest to reach by car or ride-hailing service.
