Klebang’s National Day weekend just got a third warship, and a lot more to do around it.
A third ship joins the display
Three Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) vessels, KD Terengganu, KD Gempita and KD Laksamana Muhammad Amin, will anchor off Pantai Klebang for the three-day National Day program from 29 to 31 August. It is the first time three warships have anchored together at the site.
As previously confirmed, the public can board two of the warships for free across all three days. The third joins the lineup as part of the wider static and demonstration display, alongside military assets brought in for the occasion.
What’s on: a 19-activity military carnival
The ships are the headline of a bigger Karnival CIMIC (Civil-Military Cooperation) programme running the same three days at Klebang, with 19 activities in total. Highlights include a helicopter air show, aircraft flypast and fast boat demonstrations, plus a K9 war dog display, commando drills and an Army Red Warrior performance.
On the ground, visitors can walk through static displays of artillery and combat vehicles, try a Survival Village experience, and take advantage of free health and dental screening. Recruitment booths for the armed forces, police, fire service and the Election Commission will also be set up for anyone curious about a uniformed career.
Planning your visit
All of this runs inside the same 29 to 31 August window as the rest of Melaka’s National Day program at Klebang. Pair your visit with the parking and shuttle arrangements, including the 13 named pickup points now confirmed for the free shuttle fleet, and check the free entry to selected tourism spots available on 31 August. With warships, an air show and a full carnival on one stretch of coast, expect Klebang to be busy across all three days.
